Making do
Nothing exciting today – just a little mending. I have managed to sketch out some things from my Japanese books and matched up projects to fabric but life is getting in the way. Refashioning is on hold what with three weekends of travel, one more coming up, the new crown being installed and lots of teaching — not to mention designing furniture.

In the bad-old-days I would have tossed these out. Each trip to the States includes a stop at Woodbury Commons to/from Montclair to/from Broad Brook (or if we are passing through Vegas, the Premium Outlets north of the Strip) and picking up a dozen pair of underwear is like scoopin’ up jelly beans in a candy store. Shame on me. Two minutes to fix these at most.
One of my students was wearing very UN-balloon-y Thai fisherman pants the other day so I had a quick google. What I need to do first is try on a pair somewhere and see if they actually suit me. No sense making them if I won’t end of wearing them, is there?

Why draft a pattern when you have all the parts you need to make these? The Kuala Lumpur fabric might be a bit much but I am going to Shenzhen again soon and have a few favourite fabric stalls I can hit. I measured this layout then added some for the waist wrap tie thingie and the length is now on my wish list. I’m thinking lightweight linen.
